We're going on a year since COVID-19 shut down gyms in Montgomery County, and Prime Fitness has been doing a masterful job of pivoting from offering small group high-intensity interval training, strength, endurance and agility workouts in person to offering them online. The owners, Eric and Christy, did everything to make the transition go well, offering class times based on client requests, helping clients in securing equipment, modifying workouts as needed for the various equipment that clients may have in their at-home gym spaces and even offering outdoor classes with distance between clients (during warmer weather), all in the name of keeping everyone fit during this challenging time. Prime Fitness transitioned to online Zoom workouts last year as the pandemic continued to escalate. While I was prepared for a different workout experience I couldn’t have anticipated how much fun it would be to workout in a virtual environment or how the owners, Christy and Eric Giroux, would maintain the tight knit community and camaraderie of live, in-person group fitness classes. Honestly, Prime Fitness has been the key to maintaining a routine for my physical and mental health during the months of uncertainty and unrest. The workouts are always challenging and the nutritional guidance, fitness challenges and wholistic support are the reason I’ve been a member since 2014. If you’re looking to incorporate fitness as a component to a healthier lifestyle and you need expert guidance and a supportive community, then give Prime a try.

I started at Prime Fitness “in gym” in July of 2019. I had been working out for several years in a big box gym with minimal results but at least I was moving. There wasn’t much help or instruction unless you signed up with a trainer. I wasn’t too impressed with the training sessions I observed. I joined Prime on the recommendation of a friend. Within months I saw and felt a difference in my body and the way I moved as well as improving my balance due to coaching and structured targeted workouts. Fast forward to Covid quarantine. Many of us were working out 5 & 6 days a week. What were we going to do now? Prime didn’t miss a beat and quickly started providing Zoom and outdoor alternatives. Today I work out 5 days a week on Zoom. I love my 2 minute commute from my bedroom to the basement. The workouts are as good as ever but what I really like is because I am working out by myself I am taking my time to perfect my form which is giving me even greater results. All of us have varying pieces of equipment and options are always provided so everyone is covered. Everyone works at their own level. Trainers still provide the same great level of coaching, correction and motivation. I know I would not be working this hard on my own. If you are looking for a top quality program on Zoom that will provide results Prime is it.
